Sharing the Love

So many of you tell me that you're hooked on http://www.babysteals.com/! I'm glad - that was the point. Now I am going to get you hooked on two other sites that I love. They are one-deal-at-a-time sites operated by backcountry.com.
First of all, my fav. http://www.whiskeymilitia.com/. Don't judge it by it's name, fellow Mormon readers. I spend almost as much money at this site as I do at Costco. It's ridiculous. Just over the weekend alone I scored a great Nixon watch (just a little different than the other Nixon watch I bought the day after Christmas) a Volcom swimsuit, Vans skate shoes for Easton and some super-cute Volcom shorts (EMILY M- that 'super' was exclusively for you. I really don't mean it. No one else will understand this but Emily. Maybe Rett will read between the lines but that's it).
Another - http://www.steepandcheap.com/. Operated by the same company as WhiskeyMilitia, it's a less-punk version but still great stuff. I could ramble on about an amazing story I have regarding my connection here but I'll save you the read, anyone reading this blog that knows me knows the great story. If you don't have a clue what I'm talking about, ask me.

Finally, http://www.woot.com/. BabySteals.com is commonly referred to as Woot for babies or SteepandCheap for babies. Woot is a deal-of-the-day site for electronics. Stands for 'want one of those'. By far the first DOD site, the biggest DOD site, and if you ever want a great laugh, go just to read the descriptions. Hilarious. I rarely buy from this site (wrong demo) but go for the entertainment factor, just like 250,000 other people that go right at midnight when they switch product for the day. That's why I switch BabySteals product at 9am - I don't want moms staying up that late just to get a deal!

Alright, there it is. I figured if I want people to continually share BabySteals.com with their friends, I better up the karma and spill the beans about my 2nd and 3rd favorite sites. I better run - Whiskey just posted a really hot Burton shirt!

to the people that insist on planting cottonwood trees

"Ahhhhh-CHOO"SE a different tree. not that i don't love air that snows with mini cotton balls, but come ON. systems overload. if i sneeze one more time or itch my eyes again i'm gonna come cut your tree down.

maybe cottonwoods are getting a bad rap. guilty by association perhaps. but if it's flying in the air and i'm breathing it in and then spend the next 15 minutes sneezing uncontrollably, someone is going to get blamed.

Meanwhile I've been blogging a lot on BabySteals - (I guess business comes first) and there's some cute pictures of Jane my mom took so check it out! www.babysteals.com/blog Meanwhile Jane still has a fever, cough and runny nose but the fever is down a little bit. After the 104.5 scare last night it hasn't gotten quite that high again thank goodness!

Late Night Ramble

Sometimes it's so scary when the kids get sick. I always feel so bad for them and wish it was me instead. My kids very rarely get sick however this last week has been an exception. Brandon's had walking pneumonia and the Dr. diagnosed him with mild Asthma. He's doing much better now but has to do breathing treatments and antibiotics for a few more days. It's a very rare thing for us to take meds or for my kids to have antibiotics. Occasions like this, you don't have much choice. I'm up this late blogging about it because I can't sleep- Jane had a rough night last night with a fever and slight cough and now tonight spiked a fever of 104.5. We woke her up to get her fever down in a tepid bath and I tried my best to get some Motrin in her but after her crying I don't think we even got half of it in her. After getting her settled again it went down to 103.5 and I just couldn't let myself sleep- I had to come log on and check WebMd to make sure there wasn't anything else I should possibly be doing for her. It shouldn't be any cause of harm because it's more about the other symptoms than the fever. She has a mild but deep cough. I certainly hope she's not going to end up with what Brandon's had. The Natural Health book seemed to be more help than online so far. Lavender, Tea Tree, and Eucalyptus Oil in the tepid water and afterward on washcloths. At least I feel like I'm doing something! Oh and quick tip! Did 'ya ever see the email that kept going around on getting your child to stop night coughing when they have a bad cold? It says to put Vicks on their feet and put on a pair of socks. Seriously folks, it works. However, the email never said why but it's so obvious. Eucalyptus Oil is an ingredient in Vicks. Eucalyptus Oil has been used for centuries to relax the nervous system. So everyone thinks Vicks is the miracle cure, it's not, it's the essential oils in it that are!
