Brandon's Special Day

Brandon was baptized on Saturday. It was a very special day with family! Special moments include Jane walking over to Brandon during the talks, pointing to his feet and saying, "Baddy, shoes, socks. three, five, NOW!" And when his baptism was over and Eric was walking him out of the font, she said "Baddy, No! Simmin suit!" (simmin=swimming) She seemed very annoyed he didn't have a swimming suit on! Easton's best friend Solomon played the piano for the songs, (he is amazing) Easton led the music. Shelly and Emily gave the prayers and Grandma & Grandpa Francis gave great talks. Of course we had a great time after at our house eating great food and visiting!

BabySteals.com in the news!

It's pretty surreal when you see yourself on the news. Well, not yourself, but something with so much of yourself in it. When I saw this today, I kept thinking, "Wow, this website sounds awesome!" And then realizing, wait, it's mine! That's my way of saying that WFSB in Connecticut did a fabulous job on this piece. By the way, BabySteals.com is 3 months old today (well yesterday, but I still haven't gone to bed so to me today is yesterday. It's 2:00am but Blogger thinks it's 2 hours earlier).

I've been working since I got home from work (why doesn't that sound right) and I STILL have over 100 more orders to ship. Stories like this though, keep me going!

funny things our kids say

Since Brandon is getting baptised next Saturday, I was reminded of a funny thing that Easton said to my dad when he was little. My dad emailed it to me and I've kept it forever because I thought it was so funny. This will probably only be funny if you're a Mormon or at least know a lot about the religion.

3/31/99:
Easton was sitting on my lap last night while I was looking at NBA.com and listening to the JAZZ blow another overtime. This picture was on their main page with a caption. Easton pointed to it and said, "That guy is getting baptised"...

Happy 8th Birthday Sweet Brandon!

Brandon's Favorite Things on his 8th Birthday:

Color- Black and Blue. Because they are cool colors.

Food- Cookies, Broccoli, Corn, Apples and Peaches. Because they're good for you, except the cookies.

Toy- My Pokemon Cards. Because they help people sound out words and help make them good readers.

TV Show- Skunk-fu and Johnny Test. Because there is a skunk in it and Johnny Test because there are more inventions than any other TV show.

Movie- The Little Rascals. Because it's funny.

Friend- Ryan and Palmer my cousins. Because they are nice and friendly.

Sport- Skateboarding, Soccer, Golf, Fishing and running around the thing over at the High School.

Memory- Over at Greys River when I caught my 15" Cutthroat Trout.

Video Game- Guitar Hero III. Because I am on expert.

Pokemon- Empoleon. Because he is a Level X card and I got it from Palmer.

Vacation- Denver, (because there is a swimming pool) Greys River (because nature is all around it) and Disneyland (because there is rides and cartoon people like Buzz Lightyear and my favorite ride is Space Mountain and Splash Mountain.)

Restaurant- TGI Friday's. Because my aunt Sara and uncle Brock work there.

Other Favorite Things: Riding my KTM 50 Motorcycle, Greys River, computer games.

Why I'm excited I'm 8: Because I get to be a member of the Church and I get to be in Scouts and I get to be a Deacon one day.

This is where I was for 8 days....

Jane's 2nd Birthday

I know, it was way back on May 2nd and I kept thinking I couldn't possibly post the pictures without writing about her birthday. Since my life has been crazy hectic since then, I decided to post a few cute pics and blog later. I have the cutest little girl in the world!

In the meantime, these pictures are self explanatory about a scary but funny thing that happened. Jane blew out her candle so cute but of course everyone wanted the perfect picture, so we had to do round 2. The second time around, she blew out the candle, I thought! Instead her whiff of air missed and since I was behind her I couldn't tell. Within milliseconds everyone was cringing and it turns out instead of blowing out the candle, she singed all some hair on her upperlip and nose. People thought it was pretty funny but scary because she could have burned her mouth pretty bad! She didn't seem to complain though! Scroll down to view the animation:

calendar note to family and friends

sweet brandon is turning 8 on july 24th and you know what that means! that we get two celebrations; one for his birthday and one for his baptism into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. his baptism is on Saturday August 2nd, call or email us for the time & location but please save the date!

he is very excited for his birthday, "how many more days until..." is his first question every morning. he is also so excited to finally be in scouts!

So many of you tell me that you're hooked on http://www.babysteals.com/! I'm glad - that was the point. Now I am going to get you hooked on two other sites that I love. They are one-deal-at-a-time sites operated by backcountry.com.
First of all, my fav. http://www.whiskeymilitia.com/. Don't judge it by it's name, fellow Mormon readers. I spend almost as much money at this site as I do at Costco. It's ridiculous. Just over the weekend alone I scored a great Nixon watch (just a little different than the other Nixon watch I bought the day after Christmas) a Volcom swimsuit, Vans skate shoes for Easton and some super-cute Volcom shorts (EMILY M- that 'super' was exclusively for you. I really don't mean it. No one else will understand this but Emily. Maybe Rett will read between the lines but that's it).
Another - http://www.steepandcheap.com/. Operated by the same company as WhiskeyMilitia, it's a less-punk version but still great stuff. I could ramble on about an amazing story I have regarding my connection here but I'll save you the read, anyone reading this blog that knows me knows the great story. If you don't have a clue what I'm talking about, ask me.

Finally, http://www.woot.com/. BabySteals.com is commonly referred to as Woot for babies or SteepandCheap for babies. Woot is a deal-of-the-day site for electronics. Stands for 'want one of those'. By far the first DOD site, the biggest DOD site, and if you ever want a great laugh, go just to read the descriptions. Hilarious. I rarely buy from this site (wrong demo) but go for the entertainment factor, just like 250,000 other people that go right at midnight when they switch product for the day. That's why I switch BabySteals product at 9am - I don't want moms staying up that late just to get a deal!

Alright, there it is. I figured if I want people to continually share BabySteals.com with their friends, I better up the karma and spill the beans about my 2nd and 3rd favorite sites. I better run - Whiskey just posted a really hot Burton shirt!

to the people that insist on planting cottonwood trees

"Ahhhhh-CHOO"SE a different tree. not that i don't love air that snows with mini cotton balls, but come ON. systems overload. if i sneeze one more time or itch my eyes again i'm gonna come cut your tree down.

maybe cottonwoods are getting a bad rap. guilty by association perhaps. but if it's flying in the air and i'm breathing it in and then spend the next 15 minutes sneezing uncontrollably, someone is going to get blamed.

Need to catch up!

I have a ton of blogging to catch up on- all the way back to our Disneyland trip in April.
